Gaming plays an important role in maintaining sanity in this chaotic world. But how are role-playing games specifically used to promote mental health? Various practitioners from different fields will discuss and share their experiences on this topic.
Participants include Rauno Meronen - already known from the KVEST YouTube series - who leads a mental health improv series with Ruutu10 and Peaasi.ee; Terje Quaijtaal, a peer counselor who conducts DnD therapy groups for neurodivergent individuals; Helar Peterson, a psychodrama therapist specializing in crises and grief; and Kersten Kõrge from the MängudeÖÖ team, a role-playing game researcher and mental health activist who has collaborated with Geek Therapeutics, an international promoter of "geek culture." The discussion will be moderated and guided by Jürgen Seermaa from KVEST.
The discussion will take place in Estonian.
But the stage doesn’t go quiet for role-playing enthusiasts after the panel! The participants will seamlessly transform into characters for this year’s MängudeÖÖ horror stage play – Põrgu Pelgupaik!
